Overview
A nine-speed drivetrain on a mountain, road, gravel or cyclocross bike is what this KMC X9 chain is made for. A nickel finish and a MissingLink to join the ends come with it.
Cross-brand compatibility makes it a useful pick for owners with Shimano, SRAM or Campagnolo parts, and the included link makes fitting simple. The listing gives two nearly equal weights and no warranty text.
Who it's for
Cyclists replacing a worn chain on a nine-speed mountain, road or gravel bike. Anyone with a different speed count needs a chain built for that spacing.
Pros and cons
- Works with three component brands
- Nickel plated finish
- Suits road and trail
- Weight listed two ways
- Warranty not listed
- Strand entry looks wrong
Performance notes
Chain width is matched to the cog spacing of a nine-speed cassette, so shifting depends on pairing it with the right speed count. The connecting link lets the chain be fitted without special tools, and wear shows as stretch over time.
