Overview
A hand-drumming session gets a Remo djembe here with a key-tuned Skyndeep Fiberskyn head instead of a rope-tuned one. Contour tuning brackets hold the head over a bass wood shell finished in Black Earth paint.
Key tuning lets you tighten the head with a drum key, which is easier than re-roping a traditional djembe. The listing describes the sound in just a few words and offers few other details, and the warranty reads as not available.
Who it's for
Drum circles, classrooms and home players who like quick tuning fit a key-tuned drum. Anyone who wants a natural animal-skin head and rope tension should look elsewhere.
Pros and cons
- Key-tuned head adjustment
- Synthetic Fiberskyn drumhead
- Warm bass, defined slap tones
- Painted Black Earth finish
- Warranty not available
- Accessories not included
- Drum key status unconfirmed
- Not a rope-tuned djembe
Performance notes
The contour tuning brackets pull the drumhead down onto the shell so tension is set with a key rather than rope. Tension governs pitch and slap response, and the shell adds the low end.
