Overview
A gas-charged twin-tube body with a chrome finish is the working part of this KYB Excel-G rear shock. It is made on the same lines as KYB's factory equipment and calibrated to restore original performance.
Reach for it when the aim is stock-like control rather than a firmer setup. The listing does not name the car or truck, and it lists a single shock rather than a pair.
Who it's for
People keeping a vehicle close to factory behavior who have matched the part number. Those who need a pair, or a sport calibration, need to look further.
Pros and cons
- Calibrated to original ride
- Rear position stated
- Extended length listed
- Replaces several part numbers
- Vehicle not named
- Sold as a single shock
- Compressed length not listed
Performance notes
The twin-tube design and nitrogen charge reduce foaming and damp rebound consistently, so the tire stays in contact with the road. Because it is tuned to the original calibration, the ride should feel like it did when new.
