Overview
A pair of friends or siblings with one pad can fly both of these prebuilt Estes rockets, the Rascal and the Hijinks. Each has a nose cone, a body tube and a colorful parachute. The set adds a launch pad system and controller.
Two rockets doubles the flying time per outing and avoids a build step. The listing says each can be ready in minutes in one place and assembled in a couple of hours in another, and altitude figures differ too.
Who it's for
Families with more than one young launcher get two ready rockets and the gear to fly them. Hobbyists who enjoy building, or who want to choose their own launch system, will find less to do here.
Pros and cons
- Two rockets in one set
- Launch pad system and controller included
- Little or no building needed
- Colorful parachutes for recovery
- Engines sold separately
- Batteries sold separately
- Altitude figures vary in the listing
- Prep time stated inconsistently
Performance notes
Standard Estes engines lift each rocket to the stated altitude, and parachutes slow the descent for easy recovery. Both rockets share one launch pad system and controller, so launches happen one after another. A clear field and the safety code distances matter at every launch.
