Overview
Organic alfalfa seeds from NOW Foods sold specifically for home sprouting, not as a capsule or powder supplement. Packaged at 12 ounces and grown in the USA, certified non-GMO.
This is a seed product meant to be sprouted at home, which puts it in a different use category than the encapsulated or powdered alfalfa supplements sometimes filed under the same category tree. Buyers looking for a supplement to take directly should note this ships as raw seed for growing sprouts, not a ready-to-consume form.
- 12 oz organic alfalfa seeds for sprouting
- Grown in the USA, certified non-GMO
- Kosher, vegan, vegetarian
- Free of corn, dairy, egg, nut and soy allergens
Who it's for
Suits home sprouters who grow their own alfalfa sprouts for salads or sandwiches and want an organic, non-GMO seed source. Not a fit for anyone expecting a capsule or powdered alfalfa supplement to take as-is, since this requires the sprouting process before use.
Pros and cons
- Certified organic and non-GMO alfalfa seed
- 12 ounce package, grown in the USA
- Free of corn, dairy, egg, nut and soy allergens
- Requires sprouting at home, not a ready-to-eat or ready-to-take product
- No listed germination rate
Performance notes
As raw seed rather than a processed supplement, the product's value depends on successful home sprouting, which the listing does not guarantee a germination rate for. It is labeled Kosher, vegan and vegetarian, and free of corn, dairy, egg, nut and soy allergens.
