Overview
Spectrum makes this cooking spray from refined coconut oil and delivers it from an aerosol can as a non-stick coating. The description points to uses from coconut shrimp to a pineapple upside down cake.
A spray lays a thin film of oil where a brush or spoon struggles, which is the reason to choose it for baking pans and skillets. The soy allergen note is the main limitation to check.
Who it's for
Cooks who bake or fry and want a quick non-stick coating from a can. Households managing soy allergies, or those wanting unrefined coconut oil, should look at other products.
Pros and cons
- Refined coconut oil
- Aerosol spray coats evenly
- Made in the USA
- Soy allergen listed
- One can only
- Unrefined oil not offered
Performance notes
An aerosol can atomizes the oil into a thin film, so a short burst covers a pan without pooling. The listing gives a melting temperature figure for heat use, and the description mentions a clean natural flavor.
