Overview
On a hiking trail, a bottle that seals itself between sips saves fiddling with a cap. The Cortland uses an AUTOSEAL button: press to drink, release and the lid closes again. A clip handles carrying and a cover protects the spout.
The reseal action is the reason to look at this bottle, along with a lid built to come apart for cleaning. It is plain plastic, and hand washing is required, so dishwasher habits will not carry over.
Who it's for
Trail walkers who sip often and want the lid to close on its own are the audience. People who carry drinks for hours in heat or cold need an insulated bottle, which this listing does not describe.
Pros and cons
- Lid reseals after every sip
- BPA free plastic
- Carry clip for transport
- Spout cover blocks dirt
- Hand wash only
- No insulation listed
- Plastic body only
Performance notes
The button opens a valve while pressed and shuts it on release, which is what stops leaks in a bag. The spout cover shields the mouthpiece from dirt between uses, and the lid comes apart so the parts can be cleaned by hand.
