Overview
A single internal aluminum stay stiffens the Barrage frame and carries heavy loads to a padded waist belt. Yoke-style shoulder straps, a sternum slider and compression straps help control a full pack on the trail.
Capacity and carry controls are the strengths, with MOLLE webbing for pouches and side pockets for small items. The hydration sleeve has two tubing ports. The limitation is weight and size, and the reservoir is sold separately.
Who it's for
People packing out for several nights and attaching extra pouches will use the frame and webbing. Day hikers, travelers wanting a small bag or anyone needing a fully waterproof pack should look for a lighter or sealed option.
Pros and cons
- Large main compartment
- Internal frame carries heavy loads
- MOLLE webbing for pouches
- Padded waist belt, quick-release buckle
- Water protection listed inconsistently
- Hydration reservoir sold separately
- Heavy empty pack
- Hand wash only
Performance notes
The internal stay and padded waist belt move load from the shoulders to the hips, which is what makes a heavy pack manageable. Compression straps pull the contents tight to limit shifting. Water repellent fabric sheds light rain, but it is not a sealed shell.
