Overview
Not a spinning reel despite its category label, this Okuma is a trolling linecounter reel from the Magda Pro line. It combines an aluminum and graphite body with an aluminum handle and stainless steel bearings, and it is built for right hand retrieve.
The data is complete where it matters: gear ratio, drag, retrieve length and capacity are all stated, and the warranty runs one year. The limit is monofilament-only capacity and a right hand layout that cannot be switched.
Who it's for
A boat angler who trolls and needs to repeat depth by line counted out. The corrosion resistant finish suits that setting. Anyone mounting it on a spinning rod, or retrieving left handed, should choose differently.
Pros and cons
- Stated gear ratio and drag
- Corrosion resistant build
- Stainless steel bearings
- Adjustable braking system
- Right hand only
- Capacity listed for monofilament only
- Not a spinning reel
Performance notes
A linecounter shows how much line has gone out, so depth can be repeated. The stated drag sets how hard a fish can pull before line slips, and the gear ratio with the retrieve length sets how fast line comes in per crank. Adjustable braking helps tame the spool on release.
