Overview
A Maytag owner replacing the UKF8001 cartridge gets a carbon filter made from coconut shell, certified by NSF and ANSI. The title calls it an easy install and a no-leak cartridge.
The reason to buy is a direct stand-in for the Maytag cartridge with stated certification and lead reduction. The limit is a short compatibility list and no stated filter life or capacity.
Who it's for
Owners of the listed Maytag models can swap the cartridge on schedule. Anyone with another brand, or a Maytag that is not on the list, should confirm the filter type first.
Pros and cons
- Lead reduction listed
- NSF and ANSI certification
- Coconut shell carbon media
- Named Maytag compatibility
- Short model list
- Filter life not stated
- Fits Maytag UKF8001 systems only
Performance notes
Water passes through the carbon media, which adsorbs lead and taste compounds, so contact time and the age of the cartridge decide how well it filters. A cartridge that is not seated fully can leak, so match the model before installing.
