More from this brandAll Schwinn kids' bikesOverview
A young child starting out gets a pink Schwinn with a front basket and a training wheel for balance. A coaster brake works with a linear pull brake, and the frame is alloy steel.
A simple, familiar setup with stabilizer support is the reason to consider it for a first bike, and the basket adds play value. The limitation is the narrow weight and height window, which a growing child will pass within a few seasons.
Who it's for
Parents of children in the youngest age band get a bike that stops with either a pedal or a lever. Families wanting a bike that lasts several years will want to check the size limits.
Pros and cons
- Training wheel included
- Basket for carrying toys
- Two brake types
- Limited lifetime warranty
- Narrow height and weight window
- Single speed only
- Setup steps not listed
Performance notes
A rear coaster brake stops the bike with a backward pedal push, and the hand lever adds a second way to slow down. The single speed drivetrain with a freewheel makes pedaling simple for a beginner.
