ECHO River Glass Fiberglass Fly Rod

Overview

Short casts on small water are where a light fiberglass fly rod like the River Glass earns its place. The blank is fiberglass with a cork handle and a split grip, and a rod tube is included for storage and transport.

Fiberglass construction, a cork handle and a lifetime warranty with repair policy make this an easy rod to commit to for light fly work. The limitation is thin data: the listing gives no rod power rating and no target species.

Who it's for

Small streams and short casts with lighter lines are the setting here, for someone who likes the look and feel of fiberglass and a cork handle. Anglers who need heavier lines, or who must know the exact piece count, should settle those points with the seller first.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

Fiberglass flexes along much of the blank, so the rod loads at short range and the caster feels the line. The fast action rating moves more of the bend toward the tip, and the matched line weight range decides which lines cast cleanly. Casting range stays modest because the rod is built around light lines.
