Overview
A player who wants extra volume and a polished look gets a jumbo with an arched flamed maple back and a gloss finish. Mahogany forms the neck, pau ferro the fingerboard and bridge, and a mother-of-pearl rosette adds trim.
Loud, crisp output and a sustained tone suit rhythm and lead playing, and the onboard Fishman Sonitone pickup lets it plug in. The limitation is body size, since a jumbo is big and the listing does not name a case.
Who it's for
Stage players and rhythm guitarists who value volume and a striking back. Smaller players, or those who need a compact travel guitar, will find the jumbo awkward.
Pros and cons
- Flamed maple back and sides
- Fishman Sonitone pickup
- Volume and tone controls
- Pau ferro fingerboard and bridge
- Large jumbo body
- Case not mentioned
- Warranty limited to the original purchaser
Performance notes
A jumbo body moves a lot of air, which makes it loud, and maple adds clarity and sustain. The piezoelectric pickup reads string and bridge vibration for amplified use, with volume and tone controls on board. Phosphor bronze strings add brightness.
