Overview
IRWIN makes this locking tool with C-clamp jaws, and it is named for fast release and a reduced hand span. Swivel pads at the jaws help it close flat on a workpiece.
Swivel pads let the clamp seat on uneven or angled surfaces, and the shorter hand span helps smaller hands. The limitation is the label confusion and the lack of a stated jaw opening or throat depth.
Who it's for
A fabrication bench or woodshop with parts to tack and hold suits a locking clamp that closes flat. Shoppers who need exact capacity numbers should confirm them before ordering.
Pros and cons
- Swivel pads grip angled work
- Fast release lever
- Reduced hand span
- Long reach body
- Jaw opening not stated
- Item type conflicts with category
- Material described only as blend
Performance notes
Locking clamp pliers hold their grip without hand pressure, and swivel pads tilt to match the surface they close on. The reduced hand span moves the handles closer so the lock is easier to set.
