Overview
Not a fly line, this SF item is a set of monofilament leader material in four sizes, supplied with a stand. The material is nylon, and the listing gives one overall length.
Four sizes in one set cover most tippet and leader needs, and a stand holds spools in order. The numbers are unclear: the line weight has no unit, the length per spool is not stated, and the breaking strength by size is missing.
Who it's for
A fly fisher building a kit who wants a convenient set of leader sizes. Someone who must know strength and length per spool will have to ask the seller.
Pros and cons
- Four sizes in one set
- Strength per size not listed
- Line weight has no unit
- Length per spool unclear
Performance notes
The X number sets the leader diameter, and higher numbers mean thinner, more delicate line. Nylon stretches a little, which cushions strikes. The stand holds the spools so line unwinds in order.
