Overview
HexClad's 10-inch hybrid pan combines a laser-etched hex pattern of stainless steel and nonstick coating over a tri-ply aluminum core, built for cooktops including induction.
The hexagonal etching is the actual mechanism behind the nonstick-plus-stainless pitch: raised stainless ridges are meant to let you sear with metal utensils while the recessed coating between them still releases food. It is oven safe to 900F on its own, but a lid is not included in this listing, and a separate glass lid would only be rated to 400F. At roughly 3 pounds for a 10-inch pan, it runs heavier than a basic nonstick skillet.
- 10-inch hybrid stainless and nonstick surface
- Tri-ply aluminum core
- Metal utensil safe
- Oven safe to 900F, pan only
Who it's for
Fits someone who wants to use metal utensils on a nonstick-style pan and is willing to pay more for a hybrid coating. Less suited to anyone expecting a lid included or wanting the lightest possible pan.
Strengths and trade-offs
Drawn from this product's published specifications.
- Rated safe for metal utensils
- Oven safe to 900F without a lid on
- Works across induction, electric, and gas
- Lid is not included
- Separate glass lid tops out at 400F
- No reviews on file yet
Performance notes
Heat moves through a tri-ply build with an aluminum core, which is what allows even heating across induction, electric, and gas alike. The hex-etched surface is designed so the raised stainless sections take the abrasion from metal tools while the coated recesses between them keep food from sticking.
