Overview
A riveted back plate and swivel fronts form the frame of this junior varsity shoulder pad, with a flat pad layout and an air management liner to move heat and moisture. Adjustable straps close with hook and loop.
All-purpose coverage for young players is the reason to consider it, with a liner system and swivel fronts that allow the arms to move. The listing gives no chest size chart, and its included-components line mentions helmet gear that does not match a shoulder pad.
Who it's for
Youth and junior varsity football players get a general-purpose pad with room to swing the arms. Older players, positions that need a specialty pad, and buyers who want a published sizing chart should check Riddell guidance.
Pros and cons
- Flat pad design
- Swivel fronts allow arm motion
- Air management liner system
- Adjustable hook and loop straps
- Size chart is not listed
- Contents line mentions helmet and facemask
- Weight figure looks inconsistent
Performance notes
Fit decides protection: pads that ride too high or too low leave the collarbone and shoulder joint exposed. Swivel fronts let the front panels move with the arms, and the liner system is meant to manage heat during play.
