Overview
Helical focus makes dialing in quick on this Vortex spotting scope, which pairs HD optics with a straight eyepiece layout. A green aluminum body is covered by a neoprene cover, and tethered caps protect both lenses.
HD optics and a lifetime warranty are the reason to consider it for hunting and long-range observation. The limit is the listing: the maximum magnification and objective entries read as one, and the display weight line is not product data.
Who it's for
Hunters and observers who glass from a truck window or tripod will use the window mount and thread. Those who need an angled body or night use should look at a different scope.
Pros and cons
- HD optics with reduced color fringing
- Helical focus wheel
- Window mount and tripod thread
- Neoprene cover included
- Straight eyepiece only
- Specs partly mislabeled
- No night vision
Performance notes
HD glass reduces chromatic aberration, so edges show less color fringing at high zoom. The helical focus wheel moves focus faster than a fine screw. At the top zoom, the narrow field of view and hand shake call for a stable mount.
