Overview
A short bent gouge, a palm gouge, a flat chisel and V-chisels sit in this set with ash wood handles. Together they cut grooves, scoops and flat cleanups for relief carving and detail work.
Several profiles give a beginner a starting set for lettering and relief work. The listing leaves out blade widths, a roll or case, and sharpening accessories.
Who it's for
Hobbyists doing relief panels, signs and detail will cover common cuts. Spoon carvers or whittlers should buy knives instead.
Pros and cons
- Several blade profiles
- High carbon steel
- Ash wood handles
- Palm gouge for small work
- Blade widths not listed
- No case or strop listed
- Contents field mentions a knife
Performance notes
A gouge scoops, a flat chisel pares and V-chisels cut lines, so each shape handles a different step of a relief carving. Tools stay effective only while sharp, and stropping is part of upkeep.
