Overview
A yellow and black head forged from high carbon steel does the cutting on this compact plier. The handles blend plastic and rubber in an ergonomic shape, and the set name suggests more pieces than the component list shows.
The reason to look at it is a light, soft-grip cutter for fine wire and craft work. The limitation is the mismatch between the five piece set name and a component entry naming only wire cutters.
Who it's for
A crafter or jewelry maker snipping fine wire. A person cutting thick wire or cable should look at a rated heavy cutter.
Pros and cons
- Soft rubber grip
- High carbon steel head
- Covers jewelry and craft use
- Set contents unclear
- Cutter capacity unspecified
- Piece count conflicts with components
Performance notes
Leverage from the handles reaches the cutting edges, so a head hardness matched to the wire matters more than force. Fine craft wire cuts cleanly, while hardened wire could mark the edges.
