Overview
SOMELINE supplies this as crimping pliers bundled with a big assortment of ferrules. The handles blend polypropylene and thermoplastic rubber in an ergonomic shape, and the tool is black and orange.
The reason to buy is a ready-made ferrule kit that lets wiring be finished neatly. The limitation is that the listing never ties each size to a wire gauge.
Who it's for
An electrician or maker terminating many stranded wires will use the large assortment. A user crimping only a few lugs a year can buy a smaller set.
Pros and cons
- Large ferrule assortment
- Many sizes covered
- Ergonomic rubber handle
- Listed for varied trades
- Gauge per size not listed
- Heavy for a hand tool
- Ferrule colors not described
Performance notes
The jaws compress a ferrule around stranded wire so strands cannot splay in a terminal. A correct result depends on matching the ferrule size to the conductor and the die to the ferrule.
