Overview
A basswood body carries a pickup in the S configuration and a fixed bridge, with a maple neck and a rosewood fretboard. Output goes through a quarter inch audio jack, and the body follows a burning fire style outline.
The reason to look at it is the starter bundle, which covers the cord, strap, pick and gig bag for a new player. The limitation is that the pickup type, string gauge and amplifier are not described, and the strings are listed as steel or nickel.
Who it's for
New bass players who want to start with a cord, strap and bag in one box will find the bundle convenient. Left-handed buyers, and players who need pickup or hardware details, should look at a listing that states them.
Pros and cons
- Maple neck with rosewood fretboard
- Strap, pick and amp cord included
- Pickup details are thin
- Strings listed as steel or nickel
- No amplifier included
- Dimensions and weight absent
Performance notes
Basswood is a light body wood, and the maple neck and rosewood fretboard set the feel under the hand. The single pickup converts string vibration to a signal sent through the audio jack to an amplifier. The fixed bridge simplifies setup.
