Overview
Not a clay or silica litter, pidan is a pellet litter made from tofu, built on soy and pea pulp fiber with cassava, wheat and corn starch. It clumps and dissolves in water.
Plant ingredients and low dust are the main attractions for owners who dislike clay. Pellets scatter less than fine granules. The material list includes silica and calcium carbonate blends, so it is not purely plant-based.
Who it's for
Cat owners who want to flush waste and dislike clay dust. The four-bag pack fits a steady routine. Households on septic systems should check before flushing.
Pros and cons
- Clumping and flushable
- Four bags per set
- Contains soy, wheat and corn starch
- Flushing limits not detailed
- Tofu scent may not suit all
- Pellets feel different to cats
Performance notes
Pellets absorb liquid quickly and clump, so scooping removes waste. Because the material dissolves in water, flushing small amounts is possible. Less scattering follows from the pellet shape compared with powder.
