Overview
Beyond sells this Blackout 8X as braided polyethylene line with a no fade finish. The listing states the weight rating and spool length, and the technique is braided.
The reason to buy is a clearly stated rating and length with a color that is meant to hold its shade. The limits are no diameter, coating or knot detail. Anglers matching line to a reel spool need the diameter first.
Who it's for
A freshwater or boat angler who prefers braid and wants a dark line. Anglers who need a diameter to fit a small spool, should look at a fuller listing.
Pros and cons
- Weight rating stated
- Spool length stated
- No fade color
- Diameter not given
- Coating not described
- Abrasion resistance not listed
Performance notes
Braided polyethylene has very little stretch, so hooksets transfer quickly. The weight rating sets breaking strength, and thickness decides how much fits on a spool. The listing does not give diameter.
