Overview
Not a belay device or a descender, the Ropeman is an ascender built from aluminium alloy. The listing shows one size in orange and the model name Ropeman, with a limited warranty from Wild Country.
Low weight makes it easy to carry on a harness or in a pack. The listing is sparse, and rope diameter, rated strength and usage details are all missing.
Who it's for
A climber or rope worker familiar with ascenders who wants a light unit and will check the manufacturer's guidance. A beginner who needs instructions or specs should not rely on this listing.
Pros and cons
- Light aluminium alloy body
- Small and easy to carry
- One size, no fitting
- Rope diameter range missing
- No strength rating given
- Instructions not in listing
Performance notes
An ascender grips the rope under load and slides the other way, so the rope diameter and condition decide how well it bites. No such detail appears, so correct use depends on the maker's own instructions.
