Overview
Canon makes this large format inkjet for offices that need posters, drawings and signs from roll or sheet media. A built-in LCD, media detection and a color calibration routine reduce guesswork when switching papers.
The reason to buy is the roll-fed wide format output with automatic paper detection and a modest footprint for the class. The limit is that the stated speeds are slow and the listing mixes different media size figures.
Who it's for
Picture a small architecture or retail office that prints a drawing or a sign a few times a week. A home user wanting photos, or a shop needing fast volume, should consider another class.
Pros and cons
- Wi-Fi, Ethernet and USB
- Five-color ink system
- Heavy to move
- Slow for large prints
- Media size figures conflict
- Scan function details thin
Performance notes
Media detection identifies the loaded paper and calibration adjusts color output to it, which helps print results stay consistent. Resolution sets detail, and the page rate is low because large sheets take time. Inks are supplied in tanks listed at a combined volume.
