Overview
Not an all-in-one boombox, this FiiO player is a cassette deck in a clear aluminum shell that feeds an external amplifier or speaker. A DC motor turns the tape, and a built-in op-amp handles the analog signal.
The reason to look at it is a purpose-built tape player with audiophile parts and a rechargeable cell in a see-through design. The limit is that the listing gives no dimensions, no playback time and no description of the outputs.
Who it's for
A listener with an amplifier or powered speaker and a stack of tapes will use it as designed. Buyers who want a boombox with speakers or a recorder should choose a different unit.
Pros and cons
- Audiophile op-amp listed
- Clear aluminum shell
- Dual power modes
- No built-in speaker listed
- Recording not described
- Battery life not stated
Performance notes
A DC motor drives the tape transport, and an analog signal path means the audio is not converted along the way. Sound quality still depends on the tape condition and the amplifier you connect. The op-amp stage sets how cleanly the signal leaves the player.
