Overview
A film fan with a living room TV gets a long, black bar here that streams over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and links to other rooms. It takes app and voice control and lists HDMI for the TV connection.
Multi room audio, Hi Res support and voice control are the reasons to look at it. The limitation is the box, which holds only a power cable and a quick start guide, and a listed input voltage that needs checking.
Who it's for
A household that already uses wireless multi room audio, and whose TV has an HDMI input, benefits most. Buyers who need a cable supplied, or who must confirm the listed input voltage, should check Sonos before ordering.
Pros and cons
- Multi room audio
- Hi Res Audio listed
- Voice and app control
- Large channel layout
- HDMI cable not in contents
- Subwoofer link listed but no subwoofer
- Input voltage needs checking
Performance notes
A wide bar with many drivers spreads dialogue and effects across the front, and Dolby enabled content decides how much extra effect it adds. Wi-Fi carries music to other rooms while Bluetooth suits a phone. Voice commands rely on the built in microphone and a working network.
