Overview
Hitster Summer Party is a music quiz game built from cards that each link to a song through a QR code. Players scan a card with the free app, hear the track through Spotify, and guess the song, year and artist.
It targets barbecues, date nights and garden parties, with competitive, cooperative and solo modes and a summer-themed playlist. The limitation is that play depends on a phone, the app and a Spotify connection, and the listing marks it as the UK edition.
Who it's for
Hosts of backyard parties and adult game nights with music fans in the group get the card-and-chip format. Groups beyond the player range, or anyone who wants a game with no phone or streaming account, should pick something else.
Pros and cons
- Hundreds of summer songs
- Three play modes
- Cards and chips included
- Wide player range
- Needs phone, app and Spotify
- UK edition listed
- Box dimensions not listed
Performance notes
Each card carries a QR code that opens a song, so play speed depends on the phone, the app and the streaming connection. Chips layer extra play on top of basic guessing. Group knowledge of songs and years decides how competitive rounds feel.
