Overview
Not a pot or a full cooker, this is a pair of round steamer baskets for steaming and draining. Silicone and polished stainless steel form the body, non-slip handles give a grip, and the space saving design stores inside a pot.
The reason to consider it is the match with two named HexClad pot sizes, which makes steaming vegetables or draining pasta simple in cookware you already own. The limitation is the narrow fit, since the listing names only HexClad pots and gives no basket diameter.
Who it's for
Cooks with HexClad three and eight quart pots who want to steam vegetables or drain pasta and store the baskets compactly. Owners of other brands, or anyone wanting an electric or stand alone steamer, will not find a listed fit.
Pros and cons
- Two baskets in the set
- Space saving design
- Heat safe silicone and stainless
- Fit listed for HexClad pots only
- Basket diameter not listed
- Capacity row is confusing
Performance notes
Steam rises from the water below through the perforated body and cooks food without sitting in the liquid. Silicone grips handle heat, and the temperature rating applies to the baskets, not to a pot that is left empty on a burner.
