Overview
XHDATA makes this pocket radio for listening to broadcasts across four bands, with a built-in AM antenna and a clock with an alarm. It also plays music from a TF card or over Bluetooth, and it charges through its USB connection.
The reason to buy is a compact multi-band radio that doubles as a small music player. The limit is the lack of numbers on reception, battery runtime and speaker output.
Who it's for
Picture a nightstand or a camping trip where news and distant stations are the goal. A listener who needs documented reception figures, or a large speaker, should look at a bigger set.
Pros and cons
- Four bands including shortwave
- Rechargeable battery included
- TF card and Bluetooth playback
- Alarm clock built in
- Battery runtime not listed
- Speaker output not listed
- Reception figures not given
- Antenna details are limited
Performance notes
Distant-station reception depends on the antenna, the time of day and where you are, so results vary more than FM. Music from a card or over Bluetooth draws on the same battery as the tuner.
