Overview
A craft table or a desk with a phone full of pictures is where this slim printer is used. The free instax app adds layout tools, a preview that shows a print placed on a wall or shelf, and a mode that handles text-rich designs sharply.
The reason to buy is the range of app modes, from collages to video frame prints and multi-image printing. The limit is that the app is required and the film is a separate purchase.
Who it's for
Imagine a party or a scrapbooking evening where phone photos become instant prints on the spot. Someone who prefers prints on plain paper, or has no smartphone, will find it limiting.
Pros and cons
- Slim, pocket-size body
- App has several print modes
- Prints from video frames
- Bluetooth and USB-C
- Film sold separately
- Prints one small size only
- Not a camera
Performance notes
The printer takes images from the app over Bluetooth and exposes them onto instant film. Print quality follows the image and the chosen app mode, with a rich color mode for saturated results and a natural mode for subtler tones. Film capacity is limited to one loaded pack at a time.
