Overview
Magnetic sensors under each key read how far a press travels, which lets the Huntsman V3 HE Mini set the point where a key registers. The small frame has a detachable USB-C cable, a PBT keycap set and an aluminum top case.
Tunable actuation, Rapid Trigger and fast reporting to the PC are the reasons to look at it for shooters and rhythm games. The trade is fewer keys than a full board, and the cable is the only connection.
Who it's for
Tournament desks and small setups suit this layout, which leaves room for mouse sweeps. Office users, anyone needing a number pad or full-size layout, and wireless buyers should choose a larger or cordless board.
Pros and cons
- Adjustable actuation depth
- Rapid Trigger support
- Very high polling rate
- Aluminum top case
- Compact layout drops keys
- Software through a web app
- Hall Effect boards need setup to tune
Performance notes
Because the switch reads key depth continuously, the board can register a press very early and release a key the moment it moves up. A higher polling rate cuts the delay between the keyboard and the computer. Snap Tap and Snap Flex change how conflicting key presses resolve, which affects movement in shooters.
