A tiny stovetop brewer that pours straight into its own pair of cups, good for one or two short coffees. Rinse it with water only, because detergent and the dishwasher damage it.

These 8 stovetop espresso & moka pots are the most searched brands and models among the established products in this category (monthly searches for each brand and model); on a tie, the one with more owner ratings ranks first. Product data comes from public Amazon listings (updated 2 days ago). We do not test products ourselves.
Bialetti, Imusa, Mixpresso, Mongdio, Laoion lead this category among the 14 brands that passed our curation checks.
A listing appears only when it has a recorded price, a minimum customer rating, and enough ratings or monthly sales. Generic and unbranded listings are left out, while every real brand stays, including brands sold only on Amazon. The ones that pass are ordered by how many people search for that brand and model each month; review counts only break ties.
Moka pots come as stovetop brewers and self-heating electric versions: the former use a hob, while the latter need their supplied electrical base or power connection. Both make concentrated coffee, but should not be expected to reproduce the pressure or texture of pump espresso. Start by deciding how much coffee you want from each batch.
Choose capacity around what you will drink in one sitting, including the coffee you need before adding milk or water. Among the 19 products that list capacity, most fall between 0.6 and 6 cups, and 1.3 cups is typical. Moka cup labels refer to small servings, so compare the listing’s stated brewed volume with your own cups rather than assuming it means mugfuls. If the listing gives water-chamber capacity instead, ask for the expected coffee yield. A larger pot is not necessarily suitable for a smaller batch: many designs need the prescribed water level and a full, level coffee basket to brew properly. Follow the manual’s batch guidance instead of planning to underfill an oversized pot.
Heat-source compatibility can rule out an otherwise suitable stovetop pot. For induction, confirm that the base is compatible and meets your hob’s minimum pan-diameter requirement; a stainless steel body alone does not prove either. On gas, the base must sit securely on the pan supports with the flame kept beneath it and away from the handle. Any required adapter needs separate confirmation of compatibility and whether it is supplied. For either heating format, match your grounds to the manual’s moka-brewing guidance: very fine espresso grounds or tamping can restrict flow. Buying preground coffee therefore requires checking the intended brewing method, not simply that the pack says espresso.
Before buying, look at how the handle and lid let you pour hot coffee without placing your fingers near the metal body. Cleaning instructions should identify which parts can go in a dishwasher; many aluminum pots require hand washing, and an electric base must not be immersed. The coffee-filter-size field is not enough to identify a replacement moka basket or filter plate: match those parts to the exact pot and capacity. Check whether replacement sealing gaskets are available and whether any spares shown in the listing are included.
