Overview
Powerwinch builds the 712 as an electric boat trailer winch that pulls in under power and lets line run out freely. A remote controls the winch and a pulley block at the bow eye doubles the pulling force.
Boat owners with heavy hulls get remote operation and a standard harness, which makes loading from a distance easy. It is a pulling device only, so lifting a boat off the ground is outside its job.
Who it's for
Trailer owners handling larger boats who want powered loading and a remote will find it a match. Anyone lifting loads vertically or needing documented voltage should look at a rated hoist.
Pros and cons
- Remote power-in operation
- Free-wheel out for quick line release
- Pulley block for double line pulls
- Standard wiring harness included
- Not to be used as a hoist
- Voltage not listed
- Heavy at its weight
- Specification chart is not in the listing
Performance notes
A pulley or block at the bow eye splits the load between two line runs, doubling pulling force while slowing the line speed. The freewheel mode lets the line pay out by hand, so you do not have to run the motor backward.
