Overview
A compact AC motor spins the wheel on this Makita grinder at a high listed speed, inside a metal body. A case is included for storage and transport.
The reason to look is a lightweight grinder with a case from a major tool maker. The limit is that the page offers no detail on the switch, guard or dust protection.
Who it's for
Fabricators and home mechanics who grind welds, cut small stock or clean metal. The low weight relieves the wrist on long cuts. Heavy production grinding calls for a larger machine.
Pros and cons
- Light for its class
- Carrying case included
- High listed speed
- Switch type not described
- Guard setup not described
- Corded AC only
Performance notes
Motor power and wheel speed together set how fast it removes metal, while weight affects how steadily an operator can hold the cut. A corded supply holds speed under load. The listed horsepower falls just under one.
