Overview
A bank of XENYX mic preamps and compressors feeds the British EQ section on this Behringer analog mixer, which also acts as a USB audio interface. It is described as an ultra-low noise design with high headroom.
Clean analog gain and a computer link in one desk covers a small live rig or a home recording setup. The listing offers no channel breakdown beyond the title, lists the channel count at only four, and points to a web page for the warranty.
Who it's for
A small band or a project studio can use the mic preamps and USB link for stage mixing and recording. Larger acts needing many mic channels should check the channel count first.
Pros and cons
- XENYX mic preamps
- Compressors on board
- USB audio interface
- Low-noise analog design
- Channel count unclear
- Effects not described
- Warranty text points to a web page
- Software update support unknown
Performance notes
Mic preamps raise the signal to mixing level, compressors even out dynamics, and the British EQ shapes tone before the mix reaches the outputs. High headroom means loud signals have room before distortion. The USB connection moves audio to and from a computer.
