Overview
Not a standalone analog desk, the X AIR XR18 is a digital mixer built for control from iPad and Android tablets, with an integrated Wi-Fi module and a multi-channel USB audio interface.
The reason to buy is the tablet-run workflow and the preamp count in a light unit. The limit is a listing that never states what is in the box and points to a link for warranty terms.
Who it's for
A small band, church or home studio that wants a tablet-run digital mixer with many mic preamps and USB recording. Buyers who need confirmation of physical controls or box contents should check the maker's page first.
Pros and cons
- Sixteen programmable preamps
- Multichannel USB interface
- Box contents not itemized
- Warranty only by link
- Physical controls not described
Performance notes
Mixing runs through the tablet over the integrated Wi-Fi module, and the preamps are programmable. The multichannel USB interface sends the channels to a computer for recording.
