Overview
A metal base plate rides the work while the cutter spins at the listed speed, which is how this WEN planer shaves a board down. The body mixes aluminum and plastic, and the finish is orange.
A corded motor and a wide cutting path suit door fitting and board smoothing, with a depth setting for light passes. The limitation is the label confusion: router appears in the title and category, but the item type and contents say hand planer.
Who it's for
Carpentry tasks that trim a surface down in thin passes fit a hand planer. People who need to cut profiles or joinery should look for a tool listed as a router.
Pros and cons
- Wide cutting width
- Shallow depth for light passes
- Two year warranty
- Router label is wrong
- Depth range limited to shallow passes
- Blade details not listed
Performance notes
The cutter spinning at high speed shaves thin layers, and the depth setting controls how much comes off per pass. Cutting width sets how much of the board is covered at once. A metal base holds the tool flat to the surface, which gives an even result.
