Overview
A buyer who wants better tap water in the kitchen gets an activated carbon filter that mounts beneath the sink. The housing is polypropylene and the listing gives a very high capacity figure.
The reason to look at it is the high stated capacity in a compact under-sink footprint. The limit is that the listing says nothing about certifications, flow rate, power or the parts supplied.
Who it's for
Homeowners who want chlorine and taste improvement from a carbon stage and can install under the sink. Anyone who needs dissolved solids removed, or certified claims, should look at a different type.
Pros and cons
- Under-sink, out of sight
- High stated capacity
- Certifications not listed
- Flow rate not listed
- Included parts not listed
Performance notes
Activated carbon removes chlorine and organic compounds by adsorption, so contact time and flow rate decide how well it works. It does not remove dissolved salts or minerals. The listing gives neither a flow rate nor a micron rating.
