Overview
A household that goes through a lot of filtered water gets a polystyrene dispenser here, meant to stand on the counter. Water passes through an activated carbon filter by gravity as it fills.
The reason to consider it is the large volume, which cuts down on refilling. The limit is that the listing omits the filter life, certifications and whether a spigot is fitted.
Who it's for
Families, offices and anyone who gets through filtered water quickly and wants fewer refills. Single users, or shoppers needing documented contaminant reduction, should look at a smaller pitcher with stated certifications.
Pros and cons
- Activated carbon filter
- Takes up counter space
- Filter life not listed
- Contaminants reduced not listed
Performance notes
Gravity pulls water through the carbon, so the dispenser needs time to fill after each refill. Activated carbon reduces chlorine taste and odor by adsorption. A large reservoir means more water is available at once, though flow through the filter stays the same.
