Overview
Viewing the nursery from a phone, tablet or desktop is what this dome-shaped Motorola monitor is for, using Wi-Fi and an app. It records 720p video with digital zoom and an infrared light for the dark.
App-based viewing on several kinds of device suits parents who move around the house. Power and range are unclear, the listing says batteries are required, and the monitor is indoor use only.
Who it's for
A household with a reliable Wi-Fi network that is comfortable using an app to watch the baby. Shoppers who want a separate screen with no internet dependence, or a camera for outdoors, should choose another type.
Pros and cons
- App viewing on phone, tablet or desktop
- Infrared night vision
- Low battery and range alerts
- Indoor use only
- Power source details unclear
- Needs Wi-Fi to work
Performance notes
Picture quality comes from the 720p capture and the infrared light for dark rooms, with digital zoom enlarging the view rather than adding detail. Everything routes over Wi-Fi to the app, so the connection decides how steady the picture is.
