Overview
Washburn has built mandolins since the late eighteen hundreds, and this Americana pack carries an A-style body in tobacco sunburst. Paired strings run over a spruce top, with maple used for the back and sides.
Bluegrass, Celtic and rock players can use a mandolin to widen their sound, and this pack removes the shopping list by adding a bag, tuner pipe and strap. Detail on neck profile and fretboard wood is missing.
Who it's for
Right for a player curious about the instrument who prefers a bundle with a gig bag, pitch pipe and an instructional booklet. Serious collectors will want fuller build data first.
Pros and cons
- Starter accessories included
- Spruce top, maple back
- Limited lifetime warranty
- Traditional A-style shape
- Fretboard wood not listed
- Pitch pipe, not a clip tuner
- Finish is polished, shows prints
Performance notes
A spruce top vibrates quickly and projects the note, while maple back and sides add focus and brightness. Eight strings in four pairs create the shimmer typical of a mandolin, and the pitch pipe gives reference notes for tuning by ear.
