Overview
Not a chalk pastel, each Crayola stick is an oil-based neon pastel with a hexagon shape and a tapered point. The jumbo size is made for small hands, and the colors mix easily on the page.
Bright neon color is the reason to open the box: art classrooms, poster work and kids' crafts are the named uses. The hexagon body resists rolling. Water resistance is absent, and no gift packaging details are given.
Who it's for
Children and casual artists coloring, drawing and making posters. The listing covers kids and adults, with a starting age of four. Serious artists who want pigment-rich professional sticks should look at another range.
Pros and cons
- Easy-to-mix neon colors
- Hexagon shape resists rolling
- Tapered points for detail
- Non-toxic and ACMI certified
- Not water resistant
- Fixed color set
Performance notes
Oil-based sticks lay down smooth, bright color and blend by overlapping layers. The tapered point allows some detail work, while the jumbo diameter favors broad strokes. Oil pastel stays soft, so marks can smudge until protected.
