Overview
Slipping on like a vest, the Petzl Ouistiti full-body harness needs no connectors to put on. Adjustment buckles sit on the back, out of the child's reach, and a semi-rigid foam structure holds its shape.
A full-body shape suits small children without defined hips, where a waist belt would not stay in place. A front attachment point is for climbing and a back one is for other specific uses. The size range is narrow, so older children outgrow it.
Who it's for
Young children climbing with a supervising adult are the intended wearers. Larger children and adults should use a standard harness sized to their measurements.
Pros and cons
- Full-body design for small children
- Buckles placed out of reach on the back
- Two attachment points
- Foam padding for comfort
- Narrow size and weight range
- Hand wash only
- Ten-year shelf life limit
Performance notes
A full-body structure carries a small child at the chest and hips, so the harness stays on without defined hips. The ventral point is the climbing attachment, and the semi-rigid foam helps keep the shape for dressing.
