Overview
A lookout rail, a car window or a shooting bench is the sort of rest this Gosky zoom scope is made for, mounting on a tripod with a prism eyepiece. It is listed as multi-coated, smartphone compatible and focused by hand.
The reason to look is the zoom range in a light body with a tripod mount and a stated field of view. The limitation is that the listing does not say what is in the box, and the power source and finder entries are vague.
Who it's for
Someone who wants a modest spotting scope for weekend viewing and the odd phone photo can start here. Digiscoping enthusiasts should confirm the adapter part before ordering.
Pros and cons
- Listed smartphone compatible
- Box contents unclear
- Waterproofing not listed
- Finder entry vague
Performance notes
At the top of the zoom range the field narrows and shake grows, so a steady tripod head decides how useful the high end is. The objective collects a moderate amount of light, enough for daytime viewing. Phone use depends on the adapter and how well it centers on the eyepiece.
