Overview
A variable zoom control and a BAK4 prism do the work in this Gosky spotting scope, which rides on an altazimuth mount and is focused by hand. The listing mentions water resistance, fog resistance and a smartphone adapter.
The reason to consider it is a big objective with multi-coated glass, a zoom and a phone adapter in a light body. The limitation is data quality: the dimensions probably describe an accessory, and the zoom ratio is given without a clear low end.
Who it's for
A weekend birder or range visitor who pairs the scope with a phone gets what the listing promises. Anyone who plans to pack it tightly should confirm the true size first.
Pros and cons
- Large objective lens
- Fully multi-coated optics
- Smartphone adapter listed
- Dimensions look wrong
- Zoom low end unclear
- Fog resistance claim untranslated
Performance notes
A BAK4 prism gives a rounder exit pupil than basic prism glass, which helps edge brightness. Variable zoom trades field of view for magnification, and the high end shows more shake. Phone photography depends on a steady tripod and a centered adapter.
