Overview
Not a monofilament leader, this is a stainless steel wire leader rated at a heavy line weight and cut to a short length. Sixty pieces come in one pack, in green.
Gives a stock of ready-cut leaders for fish with teeth that can cut ordinary line. The listing does not say whether the ends have snaps or swivels, or what the wire coating is.
Who it's for
Pike, muskie and saltwater predator anglers who replace leaders often. Finesse anglers who want a light fluorocarbon leader should look elsewhere.
Pros and cons
- Stainless steel wire
- Heavy strength rating
- Sixty in a pack
- Short ready-cut length
- Hardware at the ends not described
- Piece count listed as one unit
Performance notes
A steel wire leader resists bite-offs from sharp teeth that cut monofilament and fluorocarbon. Wire is visible in clear water and can kink if bent sharply. The listing gives a heavy strength rating but no details on termination.
