Best forYou cook one or two dishes at a time and want induction speed in a small footprint

Fast, controllable and easy to clean, with one real limitation you should accept up front: the two zones share 1800W. Excellent as a primary surface for one or two people.

Overview

The Duxtop 9720LCBI is a two zone induction cooktop rated at 1800W total, with sensor touch controls under a glass panel and an LCD readout. It can be dropped into a countertop cutout or simply set on top of one.

The number to understand is 1800W shared, not per burner. Both zones draw from the same standard household circuit, so the unit meters power between them rather than running two high heat pans at once. Everything else about the design follows from that: it is a compact cooking surface for one or two dishes, not a replacement for a full range.

  • Two independently controlled zones
  • LCD display readable from across a kitchen
  • Built-in or countertop installation
  • All glass surface, no seams to trap spills

Who it's for

A strong fit for RVs, campers, small apartments, offices and kitchens where a dead range needs covering. Cooks who routinely run four pans, or who own aluminum and copper cookware without a magnetic base, should look elsewhere.

What buyers say

From Amazon customer reviews.

The consistent praise is speed and control: one owner boiled 6 cups of water in about 5 minutes, another replaced a two burner propane stove in a camper and preferred it. The recurring complaints are specific. Several noted the zones cannot both run high, with one describing high on one side forcing the other down to level 1 or 2. There is no button lock, so wiping the panel switches the unit on and starts the fans. Touch controls also stop responding if food splatters on them. One buyer reported the larger zone only heating in its center and abandoned the unit.

Strengths and trade-offs

Drawn from this product's published specifications.

What stands out
  • Near immediate response to control changes
  • Twenty power and twenty temperature steps
  • Glass top wipes clean in seconds
  • Installs flush or sits on the counter
What to check first
  • 1800W is shared across both zones
  • Requires magnetic cookware 5 inches or wider
  • No control lock, panel wakes when wiped
  • Cooling fan is audible in a quiet room

Performance notes

Induction heats the pan itself, so response to a setting change is nearly immediate and the glass around the pan stays comparatively cool. Cookware has to be magnetic with a flat base at least 5 inches across, and a mismatch is the usual cause of the buzzing some owners hear. Twenty power levels and twenty temperature settings give finer low end control than most gas burners.

Frequently asked

Questions about the duxtop BT-K35-LCD

Common buyer questions answered straight from the product spec data - no fluff, no "it depends".

Can the Duxtop 9720LCBI run both burners on high at the same time?

No. The 1800W rating is shared, so raising one zone to a high setting forces the other down. Owners report this most when trying to saute and boil together.

What cookware works on this induction cooktop?

Any pan with a magnetic base at least 5 inches in diameter. Cast iron and magnetic stainless work; aluminum, copper and most glass do not.

Does it have a child or cleaning lock?

No. There is no lock for the on/off button, so the panel can switch on while you wipe it down.
