Overview
Hoover builds the CleanSlate Plus as a portable carpet and upholstery spot cleaner with a corded motor and a handheld tool set. The WidePath tool covers stairs and open areas, and the TightSpot tool reaches crevices.
Spot-cleaning flexibility is the point: wide and narrow tools let one machine handle stairs, a couch seat or a car mat. The limitation is the small tank and missing detail on solution and cord length, so big rooms are the wrong job.
Who it's for
Pet owners and parents who need a quick stain fix on carpet or upholstery get a portable machine with the right tools. Anyone cleaning wall-to-wall carpet, or who wants solution included, should look at a larger cleaner.
Pros and cons
- Three tools for stairs and crevices
- Portable body for spot jobs
- Pet stain use is listed
- Hose rinse tool for cleaning the machine
- Cleaning solution not listed as included
- Small tank unsuited to large rooms
- Cord length not stated
Performance notes
Suction pulls the dirty liquid from fabric after the cleaning step, so a wide tool covers surface area while the narrow tool concentrates on one stain. Results depend on how fresh the stain is and how much solution the fabric absorbs. A small tank limits how long one fill lasts.
